About the FM24 Norwegian Lower League Database by Passion4FM
The four top divisions of the Norwegian league system ended in December with Bodø/Glimt claiming their fourth championsip title in a nerve-wrecking title battle that lasted to the final gameweek. With the Norwegian league ended for 2024, it’s time to update Football Manager 2024 with all the latest changes that has happened since Football Manager was updated the last time – (which was with the release of the Main Data Update in March 2024 in case you wonder)!
To make our FM24 Norwegian database as realistic as possible, we have updated the leagues with the correct teams for 2024 and 2025 season according to the promotions and relegations that has happened since Sports Interactive released their latest major game update for FM24.
The result is that you will be able to manage a team like KFUM-Oslo or Fredrikstad, who both got promoted to the Eliteserien for 2024 season in season one on FM24, or take on the challenge to get Vålerenga back up to the Eliterserien after their shocking relegations down to OBOS-ligaen 2024.
Or, you can select a 2024 start date to rebuild Lillestrøm who relegated from Eliteserien and had to take the hard way down to OBOS-ligaen for 2025 season.
Along with updating Football Manager 2024 with promotions and relegations fixed for 2024 and 2025 season in Norway, we have also updated all squads with all their latest transfers and managerial changes.

Selecting the Start Date in Norway
As you might know, the Norwegian football league is one of few that goes from March to December – mostly due to the cold winters that make playing outdoors football ineligible.
In Football Manager 2024, you’ll be able to start a save either in the 2023 or the 2024 season.
In this database, you can either choose to manage a club in one of the top four divisions qualified for 2024 season by selecting a 2023 start date, or see the future by playing the 2025 season before it begins by selecting the 2024 start date.
Just remember to download both the FM24 Norwegian Database and the Football Manager 2024 Transfers & Data update by Passion4FM and you’ll be able to take on a difficult challenge of managing in Norway on Football Manager.
To get straight into the action we recommend selecting ‘Early 2023 Pre-Season‘ (13.03.2023) or ‘Early 2024 Pre-Season‘ (11.03.2024) as start date of your Norwegian lower league experience depending on whether you want to manage with the correct promotions and relegations for 2024 or 2025 season.
This will ensure you will kick off the journey with a full pre-season.
Why managing in Norway on Football Manager 2024?
Managing in the lower leagues of Norway gives you everything you want from a lower league management challenge.
Pick a club in the beautiful Vestlandet where the village population is as small as a few thousand residents or head to North Norway, which is perhaps most famous for reindeers and northern light. Actually, with the Football Manager 2024 lower league database in your repocitory, you’ll be able to pick any team to manage througout the elongated country of Norway.
In Norway you’ll discover that the financial situations of those LLM clubs are as tough as the weather conditions. With the lower leagues of Norway made up from mostly amateur clubs and players, poor state in training facilities and no leeway to buy the players you need to make quick promotions, everything you know about Football Manager is put to the test as you try to take your Norwegian club from the bottom of the Norwegian football pyramid to the top.
Basically, it’s a lower league management experience far different to England, Italy, Holland or Spain as the reputaiton of Norwegian clubs, their finances and stadium capacity is well below the rest.
Regardless of which teams you select to manage in Norway, the FM24 Norwegian lower league database lets you battle your way to the professional leagues with a club from one of the regional divisions split up by the different counties.
Norwegian Lower League Save ideas on Football Manager 2024
By downloading you’ll get the opportunity to try a tough restore the glory or youth development challenge with Lyn FK who have won 8 NM cup trophies and a large number of regional championships with their youth teams.
Lyn FK is a former premier division club and one of the oldest clubs in Norway which is famous for its profitable youth development program.
If you choose to manage with a 2024 start date, you’ll experience that Skeid has finally promoted back to PostNord-ligaen after relegating to the 4th division in 2023. By promoting, Skeid’s female manager Vilde Mollestad Rislaa became historic to become the only female manager to manage a club on that level in Norway.
Famed for their youth academy and for producing a number of Norwegian internationals, Skeid’s great youth facilities provides the perfect foundation for a youth to gold series as you challenge to take the club back to Eliteserien – a level they haven’t played on since 1996(!).
Despite the financial situations of most clubs in Norway being poor, you now got the ability to take control of Lysekloster in the PostNord Ligaen avdeling 1 (3rd level / 2. division) – one of few sugar daddy clubs in Scandinavia.
Hønefoss BK was part of Eliteserien in 2012, but finds itself being promoted to the PostNord-ligaen for 2025 season after scoring over 117 goals in the 2024 season. They played in the Eliteserien for the last time in 2013 and have been a club in huge decline the years after.
FK Eik Tønsberg got its name on the January 1st 2020 after a merger with FK Tønsberg and EIK IF Tønsberg. FK Tønsberg was the club were Norwegian Tottenham Hotspur legend Erik Thorstvedt started off his professional career before eventually making his breakthrough at Viking.
This season they ended on third place in the PostNord-ligaen – only three points behind Jerv on promotion play-off place.
By managing in Norway you will discover lots of rebuild challenges and other fallen giants in the lower leagues, as well as other historic clubs such as Fredrikstad or Rosenborg where you can hunt for a European competition trophy.
We hope this quick list of Norwegian football clubs to manage gives you some great save ideas for your next Nordic adventure – for instance if you’re consider starting off a Journeyman save on Football Manager.
